Memorial Hermann Hospital<\/span><\/a> opened its doors in 1925 on the current site of the Texas Medical Center campus. It\u2019s the primary teaching hospital for the McGovern Medical School at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth). As one of only two certified Level 1 trauma centers within the greater Houston area, Memorial Hermann provides 24\/7 emergency care. Its Life Flight\u00ae service provides emergency rescue within a 150-mile radius.<\/span><\/p>\n

Today, the <\/span>Memorial Hermann Health System<\/span><\/a> encompasses 17 hospitals with 4,233 licensed beds in Greater Houston. Its facilities include 11 acute care hospitals, a children’s hospital, an orthopedic hospital, two rehabilitation hospitals and two surgical hospitals.<\/span><\/p>\n
