Emergency Department Manager

Job Description The Nurse Manager of the ER assists the Director of Emergency Services to plan, organize, coordinate, and evaluate care and staffing for the Emergency Departments at their respective campus (Navarro or North Campus). Evaluation of staffing includes planning for the next shift. This position provides direction, support and guidance to the staff and demonstrates positive role model in response to questions, issues or concerns raised by staff, family or physicians during her tour of duty. Registered Nurse RN Department Manager Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing as evidenced by licensure in the State of Texas by BNE or compact agreement, BSN from an accredited school of nursing Evidence of excellent interpersonal skills, self-directed, excellent time management and problem solving skills Experience: Minimum two years clinical experience in Emergency Nursing. Proficiency in basic management: a. Writing policy and procedure. b. Staff Development. c. Implementation of policy. d. Specific knowledge of NIMS and Emergency Preparedness Licenses/Certificates: Current licensure in the State of Texas Current BLS or within first week of orientation License to practice in the State of Texas or Compact Licensure Agreement Current BLS certification or obtained during orientation Current ACLS or obtained within the first year on the job Current TNCC or obtained within the first year on the job Current ENPC or obtained within the first year on the job Current NIHSS certification or obtained during orientation Recommended as able to obtain: CEN, ABLS, ADLS, BDLS, CDLS
