What You Will Do: Under pharmacist supervision, fills orders for unit doses, pre-packaged pharmaceuticals, intravenous admixtures, controlled substances, floor stock, supplemental medications, emergency kits and general stock. Maintains proper levels of pharmaceutical supplies, instruments and equipment. Performs related pharmacy duties such as quality management activities as drug product recalls, nursing unit inspections and pharmaceutical care audits. Delivers and picks-up medications and related items to and from the patient care areas. Assists with training of less experienced techs in their assigned areas. What You Need to Be Successful: Minimum of one-year experience as a hospital pharmacy technician or equivalent work experience is required. General knowledge of accepted pharmacy principles, practices and procedures required. Ability to perform mathematical operations required in recording and counting of inventory, processing supply requests and for record keeping purposes, including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. Ability To follow written and verbal instructions. Knowledge of generic and trade name drugs is required. Highly effective verbal and written communication skills required in order to work with medical, nursing and various allied health staff in order to successfully provide optimal patient care We are an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer.
