Overview Interventional Radiology Technologist The Interventional Radiology Technologist (IR Tech) performs a variety of technical procedures that will require ingenuity and initiative in applying prescribed ionizing radiation for radiological diagnosis. Assumes responsibility for designated areas and procedures as required, including, but not exclusively, those responsibilities necessary for proper functioning of the Interventional Radiology Section. Due to the Interventional Radiology Departments high level of quality care, VHC Health is recognized by the American College of Radiology (ACR) as a Breast Imaging Center of Excellence. Recent department accomplishments include obtaining a Siemens Dual Source CT premier scanner, additional 1.5T magnet and 3T MRI machines. With these additions, the imaging department can provide outstanding care, utilizing state-of the art technology, offering subspecialty expertise. VHC is a certified Primary Stroke Center by the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association, an Advanced Primary Stroke Center by The Joint Commission and a designated Level II Trauma Center. In this department, you can expect to see patients of all ages for emergency, non-emergent and preventative procedures. Procedures typically seen include breast imaging and intervention, CT, MRI, PET/CT, ultrasound and interventional radiology. Come join a hospital dedicated to you and your career! Qualifications * Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) by CCI required. * Two years experience as a diagnostic Radiographer and one year experience in Special Procedures. * College Diploma in Radiological Procedure preferred Responsibilities * Obtain permission to perform the exam prior to the start of any procedure and written consent for all procedures including invasive, and IV contrast media prior to the start of any procedure from patient or designated parents/legal guardians. * Knowledge of film filing system and retrieve films as needed. * Be knowledgeable of all Radiology and Interventional Radiology equipment. * Maintain the suites/procedure rooms in emergency readiness at all times. * Interface with other departments as needed to expedite radiological services and assure patient care.
