Transport Nurse


Job Summary We are searching for a Transport Nurse - someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. In this position, you'll provide quality nursing care, treatment, and stabilization of critically ill patients during transport. The Transport RN will oversee all aspects of patient care during transport. As the code responder/rapid response nurse, the RN will work in collaboration with the medical control and Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to assess, treat, and stabilize the patient, family, or visitor until the patient is moved to a higher level of care if indicated. Responsibilities * Assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating care to critically ill patients including neonates, pediatric and adult patients * Demonstrates commitment and dedication to patients and families * Ensure smooth and safe program operations * Responsible for maintaining professional development of self and others * Demonstrates commitment to program development and quality initiatives Qualifications Being fully vaccinated against COVID-19, including any booster dose(s) of the COVID-19 vaccine recommended by the Centers for Disease Control when eligible, is required for all employees at Texas Children's, unless approved for a medical or religious exemption * Bachelor's degree in nursing * Lic-Registered Nurses from the Board of Nursing for the State of Texas * Cert-Basic Life Support from the American Heart Association, Cert-PALS from the American Heart Association, Cert-Neonatal Resuscitation Program from the American Academy of Pediatrics and the American Heart Association, Cert-Adv Cardiac LS ACLS from the American Heart Association, and Neonatal Pediatric Transport from a national certification corporation required * US Passport/Int'l Doc from US Department of State or other appropriate documentation allowing international travel * Critical Care Registered Nurse, Cert-Acute/CCRN Neonatal, or Cert-Acute/CCRN Pediatric, from the American Association of Critical Care Nurses OR Cert Ped Emergency RN from Pediatric Nursing Certification Board and the Board of Certification for Emergency Nursing * 2 years of critical care experience in a pediatric or neonatal intensive care setting or Pediatric Emergency Center experience in a Level 1 trauma center with CPEN certification (3 years preferred) Company Profile Since 1954, Texas Children's has been leading the charge in patient care, education and research to accelerate health care for children and women around the world.
