Nursing Supervisor - Appointment and Advice Call Center - Aurora, CO


Salary Range: $49.42/hour - $58.13/hour

 

 

Job Summary:

Responsible for assisting to ensure patient focused, quality, effective, efficient, nursing care & service behaviors of staff supporting the practices of physicians & other medical providers; assists the Manager in supervising & coordinating the activities of personnel. Partners w/ the physician leaders in creating a culture of commitment to patient focused service, excellent support of physician practices, innovation, compliance, ethics & integrity. Assists w/ and/or manages staff, projects, budgets, & other related leadership activities. Performs all responsibilities of a RN as required. Accountable for creating a culture of compliance, ethics & integrity. Maintains knowledge of & assures departmental compliance w/ KPs Principles of Responsibility & policies & procedures, & applicable regulatory requirements & accreditation standards. Responds appropriately to observed fraud or abuse.



Essential Responsibilities:


  • This position, knows and complies with all Kaiser Permanente quality, safety, and emergency policies and procedures. Demonstrates quality and effectiveness in work habits and clinical practice in every interaction with patients, colleagues, providers, and leadership. Ensures patient safety in the preparation and provisioning of care related to but not limited to medications, procedures, infection prevention, fall prevention, including consistent use of two patient identifiers and procedural time outs. Reports safety hazards, accidents and incidents, and unsafe working conditions promptly.

  • Performs the responsibilities of a RN, as needed.

  • Supervises, leads, role models & coordinates the activities of personnel engaged in providing excellent patient focused care & supporting physician practices through the provision of integrated, effective & innovative nursing practices & related medical services. Demonstrates & promotes exemplary service orientation to patients, members, providers, & staff..

  • Participates in interviewing & selection of assigned personnel; oversees training of personnel & ensures orientation to policies, procedures & expectations. Ensures that the training activities incorporate all applicable KP policies, local, state & federal laws & regulations, & accreditation standards..

  • Manages staff, provides direction to team members, & evaluates personnel performance. This includes motivating, coaching & counseling on immediate performance issues & recommending appropriate action, disciplining & terminating in compliance w/ EEO/AA goals & personnel policies of the organization. Participates in issue/conflict resolution, performance improvement plans, & the discipline process. Ensures appropriate staffing schedules are achieved. Submits payroll..

  • Assesses & develops recommendations for new or revised general or nursing policies, procedures, & guidelines. Maintain current information & knowledge of all applicable Kaiser policies, local, state & federal laws & regulations, & accreditation standards..

  • Position requires working w/ interruptions; w/ hazardous waste; w/ hands in water; & around moving equipment such as wheelchairs. May be required to lift patients using proper lifting techniques..

  • In addition to defined technical requirements, accountable for consistently demonstrating service behaviors & principles defined by the KP Service Quality Credo, the KP Mission as well as specific departmental/organizational initiatives. Also accountable for consistently demonstrating the knowledge, skills, abilities, & behaviors necessary to provide superior & culturally sensitive service to each other, to our members, & to purchasers, contracted providers & vendors.

Basic Qualifications:

Experience

Education


  • Must be a graduate of a RN program that meets Colorado State Board of Nursing curriculum requirements.

  • Associates Degree in Nursing.


License, Certification, Registration


  • Registered Nurse License (Colorado)


 

Additional Requirements:

 

Preferred Qualifications:


  • One (1) year of leadership experience preferred.

  • BLS strongly preferred.

  • Bachelors degree preferred.


 


Call rotation required.  


Hours are primarily day shift Monday through Friday.

Pay

Average Colorado Staff Position Pay

$46.38/hour

The average salary for a House Supervisor is 3% higher than the US average of $45.
