Description
WCS Healthcare is seeking an experienced Post‑Anesthesia Nurse (PACU RN) for a contract assignment at a prestigious hospital in Hartford, CT. This role is ideal for a nurse who excels in fast‑paced recovery environments and provides safe, compassionate care to patients emerging from anesthesia.
Job Function:
- Shift: 40 hrs | 5x8 Days.
- Provide individualized, emotionally supportive post‑operative nursing care in accordance with anesthesiologist and attending physician instructions.
- Monitor and document patient vital signs, airway status, pain level, and level of consciousness per PACU protocols.
- Assist anesthesiologists and attending physicians during post‑operative recovery as needed.
- Document all nursing activities thoroughly, including writing a discharge note once the anesthesiologist clears the patient for transfer.
- Ensure all PACU equipment and supplies are stocked, functional, and readily available.
- Maintain a safe environment and respond promptly to changes in patient condition.
Job Requirements:
- Pediatrics experience required
- PACU and sedation recovery experience required
- Experience with Phase I and Phase II recovery preferred
- Ambulatory/outpatient nursing experience preferred
- BLS and PALS certifications required
- EPIC charting experience required
- Level I Trauma experience preferred
- Must have permanent license in hand or have applied with temporary license in hand
