Description

Boston Medical OR's are called Integrated Procedural Platforms, or "IPP's". Nurse at BMC have the
opportunity to do more than one specific pod of procedures. Here, all of the surgical specialties rotate
through all of our rooms. Nurses may orient on one specific type of case, but then rotate though our hybrid
rooms and our trauma room . As New England's largest and busiest Level 1 Trauma Center, with 24/7
coverage of over 1200 trauma activations per month, you will see it all! To be successful in this elite service,
you must be at the top of your game, and have demonstrated the ability to work successfully in a busy OR. If
you are intellectually curious, always looking to learn more and advance your skills, this may be the right
home for you ! BMC Nurses enjoy 12 hour shifts, and self scheduling.
To be considered for a role in our Operating Room, you must possess unrestricted RN licensure in
Massachusetts, BLS/ACLS, and an Associate’s degree in Nursing. As we are on our journey to Magnet status,
ASN Nurses must agree to obtain BSN within four years of start. BMC provides up to $5,000 of tuition
reimbursement to eligible nurses. You must have a minimum of one year of paid nursing experience in an
operating room. Out of state nurses who are considering relocating to Boston are also welcome to interview
prior to MA licensure.
