Join our team as a travel Speech-Language Pathologist in Rochelle Park, NJ. Provide evaluation and treatment for patients with communication and swallowing disorders in a hospital setting. Use clinical reasoning to develop treatment plans and goals, collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to address discharge barriers, and complete timely, accurate documentation in accordance with hospital and regulatory requirements. Participate in student supervision, professional development, and performance improvement activities. Adhere to professional codes of conduct and maintain required licensure and continuing education.

Minimum Requirements

• Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited educational program.
• Completed Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) and current Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from ASHA.
• Active New Jersey state SLP license required to start the assignment.
• BLS certification from American Heart Association or American Red Cross may be required.
• Experience providing SLP services in an acute care or hospital setting preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to complete comprehensive evaluations, develop treatment plans, and provide dysphagia management and treatment.
• Experience with electronic medical record documentation and completion of letters of medical necessity preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior travel or contract SLP experience preferred.
• Experience with interdisciplinary discharge planning and equipment trialing preferred.
• Experience supervising students or participating in clinical education preferred.

Assignment Details

• Shift frequency: 5x8.

Impacting Patient Care

Provide patient-centered SLP services that promote safety and function. Complete comprehensive evaluations and individualized plans to progress patients toward discharge within established lengths of stay. Collaborate with the care team to address barriers to discharge, provide patient and family training, and ensure continuity of care. Maintain compliance with hospital policies, state practice acts, and professional standards. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and professional advocacy efforts.
