Description

We are seeking a qualified Registered Nurse (RN) for a permanent, full-time Operating Room (OR) position in an award-winning medical facility.

Responsibilities
Responsible for managing the nursing care of the patient within the OR and coordinating the needs of the surgical team with other care providers necessary for completion of surgery
Observes the surgery and surgical team from broad perspective and assists the team to create and maintain a safe and comfortable environment for the patient
Assesses the patient’s condition before, during and after the operation to ensure an optimal outcome for the patient
Scrub and circulate as needed
Identify crisis situations and use decision making skills within the standards of clinical nursing practice to coordinate and communicate with other health care teams
Demonstrate utilization of critical thinking and problem solving skills by analyzing patient and family assessment data to determine appropriate nursing diagnoses
Work with patients to develop intervention practices that will allow them to attain realistic and appropriate clinical/educational outcomes consistent with patient's diagnoses
Ensure a clean unit environment through the utilization of appropriate risk management practices
Track and document patient's responses to interventions and provide follow-up care via home visits and telephone conversations when necessary and appropriate
Requirements
BSN preferred
Massachusetts Registered Nurse (RN) licensure required before starting
1 years relevant Operating Room RN (OR) circulating experience
CNOR and EHR experience preferred
Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS certification required
American Heart Association ACLS certification preferred
Demonstrate critical thinking, service excellence and good interpersonal communication skills, ability to read/comprehend written instructions, ability to follow verbal instructions, PC skills
Lifting 75 lbs. maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 25 lbs
