RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

Job Details:

• Work day shifts Monday through Friday from 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM (may be asked to stay until 3:30 PM)
• Provide surgical nursing care for ENT (pediatric and mostly geriatric and bariatric), urology, gynecology, general surgery, and smaller orthopedic cases (shoulder, knee, and hip)
• Must have circulator experience and be ready to work independently on day one
• Maintain 1:1 nurse to patient ratio
• On-call requirement 1-2 times per week and potentially on weekends
• May be asked to float to St. Patrick's OR (only 5 minutes away)
• Temporary assignment with ASAP start
• Required certifications: BLS via AHA, ACLS via AHA, PALS via AHA
• RN License in state of Louisiana or compact state required
• Minimum 1 year of experience in related nursing specialty preferred
• Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing preferred
• Utilize nursing process including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation
• Administer medications and treatments while monitoring for side effects and effectiveness
• Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided
• Provide patient and family education as needed
