Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour day/night variable shifts: 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM or 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• 48 guaranteed hours per week with overtime after 48 hours worked
• 13-week contract assignment starting ASAP
• Work every other weekend and holidays
• Float to all inpatient units with appropriate patient assignments
• Nurse to patient ratio: day/PM 1:4 or 5, nights 1:5-7
• Fast-paced post-surgical unit averaging 10-15 admissions per day
• Provide care for pre and post-surgical adults and geriatric patients
• Must be able to multitask and prioritize patient care needs based on acuity
• Can be placed on call during low census periods with 2-hour minimum call back
• Contract eligible for 36 hours of low census unbillable hours
• Required certifications: Wisconsin RN License and BLS
• Must have 2+ years Med Surg experience and recent hospital experience
• Trauma Level II experience required
• Prior travel experience required
• Epic EMR charting experience required
• Work with Epic EMR, Rovers for medication scanning, and Alaris pumps
• Any color scrubs permitted
• Must be outside a 50-mile radius of the facility
• Associate Degree or Certificate required, Bachelor's Degree preferred
• Mandatory flu and COVID vaccination compliance during flu season

This healthcare organization operates a 40-bed Post Surgical Care Unit that provides comprehensive care for pre and post-surgical adults and geriatric patients. The facility maintains high occupancy rates of 90-95% during the week with an average length of stay of 2-3 days. The unit specializes in post-recovery care after PACU and operates as a Trauma Level II facility, requiring experienced nursing staff to handle complex patient care needs in a fast-paced environment.
