Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg position requiring cardiac drip and dementia management experience in a community hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Work on a Med/Surg unit serving adult and geriatric patients
• Floats to another unit (Kingsbury) as needed
• Epic EMR is used and previous experience with Epic is required
• Cardiac drips are administered as part of patient care
• Block scheduling is not permitted
• Schedule includes required holiday coverage for two major holidays and adjoining weekends
• Responsible for coordinating total nursing care and participating in patient and family education
• Provides leadership and collaborates with ancillary staff and the patient care team
• Traveler must supply professional scrubs with no logos
• Must work at least two major holidays and the corresponding weekend days
• No more than five days of RTO can be requested
• All occupational health and medical compliance documents must be completed within five days of offer acceptance

Requirements

• Active NH or compact RN license in hand at time of consideration
• Minimum of 2 years of recent Med/Surg experience
• Current BLS (AHA) and ACLS (AHA) certifications
• Experience managing cardiac drips is required
• Experience caring for patients with dementia is required
• Own vehicle required due to lack of public transportation
• Previous experience with Epic EMR required
• NIHSS certification strongly preferred
