Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a critical care unit in New York requiring stroke education and floating flexibility.

Responsibilities

• Work in a 10-bed Critical Care Intensive Care Unit
• RN to patient ratio is 1:2
• Rare pediatric cases may be seen
• Must be willing to float to Med Surg units as needed
• Shifts are 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM or 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM
• Uses Allscripts, Paragon, and McKesson charting systems
• Experience with vents, drips, arterial lines, central lines, codes, vapotherm, and V60 bipaps is required
• Proctored EKG exam on Day 1
• Charge responsibilities may be required
• Facility may cancel up to 3 shifts during the assignment
• Must be willing to float to Med Surg units as needed
• Charge assignment may be required depending on staffing and experience
• Flu vaccine or signed declination required; mask required if declining
• COVID-19 vaccine is not required; proof or declination accepted
• Scrub and mask use may be required based on vaccination status
• EKG testing must be passed on the first day

Requirements

• Active NY RN license required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• AHA NIHSS certification required prior to start
• 6 stroke-related CEUs required prior to start
• Minimum of 2 years ICU experience required
• Travel nursing experience required
• Must be charge capable
• Experience with Allscripts, Paragon, or McKesson preferred
