Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry float pool position requiring an active NH or compact license and recent acute care experience.

Responsibilities

• Work in the float pool, providing care on Med/Surg and Telemetry units within a hospital setting
• 12-hour day shifts, three shifts per week
• May be requested to float between locations as needed
• Patient population includes med-surg and telemetry cases with varying ratios and acuity
• Cerner EMR experience preferred but not required
• No on-call responsibilities
• Must be able to provide care on multiple units as part of the hospital float pool
• May be required to float to other local hospital campuses as needed
• Scheduled to work at least one holiday during the assignment
• Weekly orientation is provided at the start of assignment
• Perm staff can return as a traveler after a 12-month break in service
• Local candidates are accepted at a different pay rate if residing within 50 miles

Requirements

• Active NH or compact RN license required at the time of consideration
• Minimum 1-2 years of recent Med/Surg experience required
• Experience as a Critical Care RN may be considered if comfortable with med-surg ratios and acuity
• Current BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
• NIHSS certification required prior to start
• Must take a Dysrhythmia Exam during onboarding and achieve a preferred score of 80%
• 2 recent references from Manager or Charge RN required
