Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced travel RN for a Med/Surg Tele position at a short-term acute care hospital in Lancaster, SC, requiring prior travel experience and active SC or Compact licensure.

• Work setting is a 97-bed short-term acute care hospital
• Med/Surg Telemetry unit with a patient ratio of 1:6 to 1:7
• Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts (7p–7a)
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call responsibilities
• Floating required to like units with similar patient populations
• Charting via Epic EMR
• Free parking available on site

Requirements

• Active SC RN license or Compact RN license required; candidates with a pending SC license may be considered but must be fully licensed prior to start
• Current AHA certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg nursing experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required; first-time travelers will not be considered
• Telemetry experience preferred, including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• SSN and Driver's License required for consideration
• 2 professional supervisor references from within the past 2 years required for consideration

Additional Information

• 13-week contract
• All required online modules must be completed prior to the start date; candidates can expect access to modules by the Wednesday before their start date
• Attendance at staff meetings is required
• Scrub color: Royal Blue
• All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted at the time of profile submission; approval is based on facility needs
• Candidates who were previously employed (permanent or PRN) at any MUSC facility must have been separated for at least 1 year before being eligible to work as a traveler
• Local candidates (within 60 miles of the facility) are accepted; non-local candidates are prioritized
• During hurricane season (June–November), all employees and contractors may be assigned to emergency response teams; peak activity months are August and September
