Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a 13-week LTC/SNF travel assignment at a geriatric psychiatric facility in South Dakota, requiring BSN and prior LTC experience.

Details

• Long-term care/skilled nursing facility (LTC/SNF) setting with 55 beds
• Geriatric patient population including residents with dementia, and a behavioral health program serving patients with schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and paranoia
• Day shift, 12-hour block scheduling (6:00 AM–6:30 PM)
• Patient ratios: approximately 1:23 on days and 1:45 overnight; a med aide assists from 6:00 AM–10:00 AM, with one nurse covering from 10:00 PM–6:00 AM
• Every 3rd weekend required
• Holiday coverage required when holidays fall within your scheduled block
• EMR: PointClickCare (PCC); experience preferred as the majority of skilled and specialized charting occurs on the day shift
• No on-call or call-back requirements

Requirements

• Active SD RN license or Compact RN license required — must be active and in hand at time of consideration; pending licenses not accepted
• BSN required
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
• Current BLS certification required; copies of active certifications required — pending certifications not accepted
• LTC experience required; geriatric psychiatric LTC experience strongly preferred
• Valid driver's license required
• 2 professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months, and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years — both must include dates of employment and eligibility for rehire

• Orientation includes training, a facility tour, competency validation, and the opportunity to shadow 1–2 shifts
• Candidates residing within 80 miles of the facility are considered local and are subject to a local pay rate
