Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position in Rochester, NY, requiring phlebotomy and IV placement competency with night shift availability.

Details

• 14-bed overflow Med/Surg Telemetry unit housed within a GI Endoscopy space, created to accommodate ED boarder patients
• Patient census is flexible and may increase or decrease based on ED boarder demand
• Night shift schedule: 4x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• Every other weekend (EOW) coverage required
• Floating is required
• Epic EMR is preferred
• Candidate must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible

Requirements

• Active NY RN license required (pending license not accepted)
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
• Competency in phlebotomy and peripheral IV placement is mandatory
• Required skills include: telemetry dysrhythmia interpretation and management, use of Rapid Response/Code teams, peripheral line care and management, oxygen administration (nasal cannula, tanks), non-invasive airway management, and isolation precautions
• Epic EMR experience preferred
• 2 professional supervisory references from within the past 2 years required for consideration
• Full 7-year work history with all gaps explained required for consideration

• Navy blue or white scrubs required
• Minimal time-off requests (RTO) are preferred for this assignment
• All time-off and scheduling requests must be submitted upfront at the time of application
