Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a PACU position supporting all major surgical services across adult and pediatric populations, with Epic experience and multi-phase recovery responsibilities required.
Details
- Hospital-based PACU setting spanning 34 ORs across 2 floors, supporting all surgical and procedural populations except those requiring critical care services
- Patient population includes both adult and pediatric patients across pre-op, Phase I, and Phase II recovery
- First floor includes 6 ORs, 2 cysto suites, a shared Pediatric GI/Lithotripsy room, and preps/recovers cases for CT/MRI with high pediatric volume
- Second floor includes 28 ORs servicing Endoscopy, Interventional Radiology, and Pulmonary Lab cases
- Specialized procedures include regional anesthesia and ECT (electroconvulsive therapy)
- Equipment used includes Hoyer lift, bladder scanner, and AccuVein
- Epic EMR experience is required
- Patient ratio of 1:2
- Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts (8:00–20:30)
- 2–3 weekends required per contract
- Floating to pediatric PACU required as needed
Requirements
- Active Louisiana or Compact RN license currently in hand
- Current AHA certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and PALS
- PACU or Pre/Post Op nursing experience preferred
- Epic EMR experience required
- Must reside 65+ miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
Additional Information
- Provide pre-op, Phase I, and Phase II post-operative care to patients of all ages across a high-volume, multi-OR surgical environment
- Nurses may be assigned to an Emergency Team by their unit manager during emergency events, with an expectation to remain on-site or participate in relief efforts until the event has passed
- All requested time off (RTO) must be disclosed and discussed during the interview process
- 13-week contract
