Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a 13-week LTC/SNF night shift position at a geriatric psychiatric facility, requiring BSN and Point Click Care experience.

Details

• Long-term care/skilled nursing facility (LTC/SNF) setting with 55 beds
• Geriatric patient population including dementia, and a behavioral health program serving patients with schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and paranoia
• Night shift schedule: 6:00 PM – 6:30 AM on 12-hour block scheduling
• Overnight nurse-to-patient ratio of approximately 1:45; day shift ratio of approximately 1:23
• Med aide support available from 6:00 PM – 10:00 PM; solo nurse coverage from 10:00 PM – 6:00 AM
• Every other weekend required
• Holiday coverage required when holidays fall within your contracted block schedule
• No on-call or call-back responsibilities
• EMR: Point Click Care (PCC)
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active SD RN license or Compact RN license, must be active at time of consideration — pending licenses not accepted
• BSN required
• Current BLS certification required — pending certifications not accepted
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
• LTC/SNF experience required; geriatric psych LTC experience strongly preferred
• Point Click Care (PCC) experience preferred
• Valid driver's license required
• 2 professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years, both must include dates of employment and eligibility for rehire

Additional Information

• Primarily responsible for overnight nursing care of a geriatric population; most skilled and COVID-related charting is completed on day shift
• Orientation includes facility training, a tour, competency assessments, and the opportunity to shadow 1–2 shifts
• Candidates residing within 80 miles of the facility are eligible at a local pay rate
• Psych LTC experience is preferred given the facility's behavioral health program, though most behavioral patients are well-managed on current medication regimens
