Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a 13-week Emergency Department travel assignment requiring AHA certifications and night shift availability in West Virginia.

Details

• Emergency Department (ER) in an acute care hospital setting with 8 beds
• Average daily census of approximately 29 patients
• Nurse-to-patient ratio is typically 1:2, with a potential maximum of 1:4
• ER is supported by a provider with NP/PA coverage from 10am to 8pm daily
• Medication dispensing via Pyxis
• Charting system: Epic
• 12-hour night shifts, with weekends scheduled every other weekend
• Holiday coverage is required
• No floating required
• No on-call requirements for travelers

Requirements

• Active WV or compact RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Required certifications: BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), PALS (AHA), and NIHSS
• BSN is not required
• A copy of a valid, unexpired driver's license is required for consideration

Additional Information

• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
• Travelers who have previously worked at any WVU Medicine location must have taken a 2-year break before re-applying
• Former permanent staff of Potomac Valley Hospital are not eligible to return as travelers
• Travelers may not work within the WVU system for more than one cumulative year without taking a 2-year break
• Two supervisor/peer references are required for consideration, including one supervisor reference if the candidate held a permanent position in the last 12 months
• A skills checklist completed within the past year is required for consideration
