Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an Emergency Department position in Rochester, NY, requiring an active NY single-state RN license and Epic experience for a night shift, 13-week contract.

Details

• Night shift schedule: 7p–7a (3x12-hour shifts)
• 13-week contract assignment
• Adult and geriatric emergency patient population covering all emergency-type diagnoses
• Patient ratio of 1:5
• Epic EMR experience required
• Every other weekend requirement
• Must be available to work every other holiday as needed
• Special equipment includes Bair Hugger, rapid infuser, and safe patient handling equipment
• Floating required within skillset
• Scrub color: any combination of navy blue and white

Requirements

• Active NY single-state RN license required (NY is not a Compact state; pending licenses not accepted)
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of ED nursing experience required
• Proficiency in IV therapy including blood product administration, central line care, phlebotomy, starting and maintaining IVs, and IV vasopressors
• Experience with CPAP/BiPAP and ventilator management
• Experience with CVA/stroke, neuro-trauma, spinal cord injury, and TBI patients
• Cardiac monitoring experience including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Emergency care experience including adult/pediatric ED, gunshot wounds, and orthopedic trauma
• Experience with isolation precautions, triage, and pediatric spinal cord injury
• 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years
• Candidates residing within 75 miles of the facility are not eligible for this position
