Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cath Lab/EP position requiring at least 2 years of cath lab experience, scrubbing skills, and the ability to perform both cardiac cath and IR lab procedures.

Details

• Hospital-based Cath Lab/IR Lab setting
• Serves cardiac cath patients requiring diagnostic or interventional procedures as well as IR lab patients requiring drains, tubes, kyphoplasty, biopsies, and related procedures
• Experience required in both Cath Lab and IR Lab environments
• Schedule is 4x10-hour day shifts (7:00 AM – 5:30 PM)
• Averages 8–10 call shifts per month, inclusive of 1 full weekend of coverage per month
• Epic EMR experience required
• Scrubs are provided by the facility

Requirements

• Active NY RN license required (pending license not accepted)
• Current certifications: BLS and ACLS
• Minimum 2 years of cath lab experience required; IR-only experience does not meet this requirement
• Experience scrubbing procedures is required; fluoroscopy operation is not required and ARRT is not needed
• RCIS certification is preferred
• Proficiency in cardiac procedures including cardiac stent placement, diagnostic and interventional catheterizations (left and right heart), PCI, IABP placement/removal, Impella insertion, pacemaker/defibrillator lead extraction, pulmonary artery/Swan-Ganz monitoring, and angioplasty
• Proficiency in IR procedures including embolization, nephrostomy, renal angiography, renal artery stent placement, uterine arterial embolization, lung and liver biopsies, paracentesis, percutaneous hepatic angiography, pulmonary angiography and embolization, gastrostomy tube and chest tube placement
• Proficiency in vascular access and endovascular procedures including central venous access (non-tunneled/PICC and port placement), dialysis graft creation/revision and intervention, endovascular interventions, stent graft placement, SVC/IVC venography, and upper/lower extremity angiography
• Competency in phlebotomy and IV placement required
• Skills in procedural sedation administration and monitoring, 12-lead EKG interpretation, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, antiarrhythmic and antihypertensive medication administration, and infection prevention/isolation precautions
• Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible
• 2 professional supervisory references from within the past 2 years required for consideration
• Full 7-year work history with all gaps explained required for consideration
