Description
American Traveler is hiring a Travel CT/Rad Tech for a night shift radiology position requiring ARRT certification in both CT and Radiology with a minimum of 2 years of recent experience.
Details
- 13-week contract in an inpatient radiology department
- Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
- Every other weekend required
- Holiday coverage required
- Must be able to work independently
- Familiarity with GE CT and X-ray equipment required
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of recent experience in both CT and Radiology
- ARRT certification in CT and Radiology required
- BLS certification required through the American Heart Association
- Must be able to operate GE CT and X-ray machines
- Able to work independently without direct supervision
- License required if applicable
- SSN and DOB required for consideration
- No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
- All certifications must be valid and not expiring within the first 30 days of the assignment start date
Additional Information
- Performs diagnostic CT exams and radiologic imaging following established protocols and physician orders
- Verifies patient identity and reviews medical records to confirm exam appropriateness prior to imaging
- Obtains and updates patient medical history and assesses risk factors including medications, pregnancy, and psychological indicators
- Explains procedures, pharmaceutical side effects, risks, benefits, and alternatives to patients
- Acquires and reviews images, documents deviations from protocol, and communicates findings to the radiologist
- Responds to medical emergencies as appropriate and provides post-procedure care instructions
- Participates in quality improvement activities including patient flow, reject-repeat analysis, and patient satisfaction initiatives
- Provides imaging education to residents, student technologists, and new staff
- May perform duties of a Radiologic Technologist as needed
- On-call availability required as determined by the department
- Candidates living within 50 miles of the facility are subject to a local pay rate
- RQI and RCIS certifications are not accepted for BLS
