Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Cardiac Cath Lab position at an acute care facility in Eau Claire, WI, requiring sedation experience and on-call availability.

Details

• Acute care hospital Cardiac Cath Lab setting with 2 suites averaging 6 cases per day
• Patient population includes coronary, interventional radiology (IR), and vascular procedure cases — no EP procedures performed at this location
• RNs sedate, monitor, and circulate cases; scrubbing is not required
• Cath Lab Techs handle scrubbing, monitoring, and circulating duties
• Primary schedule is Monday–Thursday, 0630–1700 (12-hour shifts)
• On-call required Monday–Thursday evenings (1700–0630) 1–2 nights per week
• On-call required every 4th weekend (Friday–Sunday, 0630–0630)
• Holiday on-call coverage required as needed
• 30-minute call response time required
• Occasional floating to provide 1:1 sitter support
• Charting system is Cerner (transitioning to Epic)
• Merge imaging system also used in the department

Requirements

• Active WI RN license or compact RN license valid in Wisconsin required by start date
• Current AHA certifications required: BLS and ACLS
• Minimum 1 year of Cath Lab RN experience required
• Sedation experience and knowledge of reversal agents required
• Experience with cardiac drips and cardiovascular medications required
• 2 professional references required: 1 supervisor reference within the last 12 months of relevant experience, and 1 peer or supervisor reference from the same specialty within the last 3 years

Additional Information

• Primary responsibilities include patient sedation, monitoring, and case circulation in the Cath Lab
• Department provides hospital-issued light blue scrubs
• Orientation includes computer-based trainings (CBTs) to be completed in the first week and an orientation binder sign-off process
• Candidates who previously worked for this health system as permanent staff must have an end date at least 6 months prior to their application date, and hospital approval is required
