Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel Imaging Supervisor for a Level I Trauma, Level I Pediatric Trauma teaching hospital, requiring ARRT-R certification, at least 2 years of acute care experience, and a minimum of 1 year of radiology leadership experience.

- Work in a large acute care teaching hospital with 874 licensed beds, designated as a Level I Trauma and Level I Pediatric Trauma center, as well as a Chest Pain Center and Stroke Center
- Radiology - Diagnostics department serves 350–400 patients per day across adults and pediatrics, including neonates, from the ED, ICUs, nursing units, and outpatient settings
- Full spectrum of radiology exams and diagnoses, including high-acuity cases typical of a teaching facility
- Department includes 2 x-ray rooms and 3 fluoro rooms on the main level, 2 ED rooms, 40 ORs with 12 C-arms and 2 O-arms, and 15 portable units
- Primary assignment is in the Main Radiology department with potential to assist in ED and OR areas as needed
- Patient population includes adults and pediatrics across the full spectrum of radiology diagnoses
- EMR is Epic; experience is required
- 12-hour day shifts from 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM, 36 hours per week
- Weekend rotation required — candidate should expect to work all weekends
- No on-call or call-back requirements
- Holidays falling on a regularly scheduled day are expected to be worked
- RTO requires manager approval
Requirements
- Active ARRT-R certification required; license required if applicable
- Current BLS required
- Minimum of 2 years of acute care radiology experience required; Level I trauma experience highly preferred (Level II or III also considered)
- At least 1 year of radiology leadership experience required (Lead Tech, Manager, Supervisor, or Director)
- Epic EMR experience required
- Proficiency in general x-ray imaging including head, neck, spine, extremities, abdomen, chest, hands, and feet; must be comfortable imaging trauma patients and performing bedside portables
- C-arm experience required; O-arm experience preferred
- OR experience in spinal, ortho, general surgery, neuro, and pediatric cases preferred
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
- First-time travelers will be considered if they have trauma facility experience
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
- Last 4 digits of SSN and full date of birth required for consideration
- 1 professional reference dated within the past year, from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN, required for consideration
- Candidates who have worked a permanent position at an AHSE facility must have been separated for at least 1 year before being considered
Additional Information
- Supervisor responsibilities include managing weekly and call schedules, real-time schedule adjustments, coaching and escalating staff performance issues, assisting with new employee onboarding, and maintaining effective communication with physicians and department leadership
- Will carry a hospital-issued supervisor phone during shift
- May be asked to precept x-ray students depending on experience
- Works collaboratively with a Lead Tech, department manager (weekdays), Weekend CT Supervisor, and on-site radiologists; MD residents and fellows are also part of the team
- Rad Tech staffing on site 24/7 with Rapid Response/Code Team available
- Equipment includes Shimadzu RadSpeed general rad rooms, Konica and Shimadzu portables, Philips C-arm, and GE O-arm
- Departmental orientation of up to 5 days, flexible based on traveler needs, following facility onboarding
- Black scrubs required; OR scrubs provided when assigned to the OR
