We’re hiring an experienced Respiratory Therapist (Registered Respiratory Therapist) for a hospital in Ypsilanti, MI. You will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate treatment, care, and needs of patients with breathing disorders. You will provide intensive respiratory care, assist with procedures such as bronchoscopy and tracheostomy care, manage mechanical ventilation, perform arterial punctures, and document patient response to treatments. You will communicate with physicians and participate in shift-to-shift handoffs.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in Respiratory Therapy or Cardiopulmonary Science.
• Current Respiratory Therapist state license in good standing with Michigan licensing board.
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential.
• Minimum one year experience as an RRT, including experience with mechanical ventilation and ventilator setup and monitoring.
• BLS certification.
• Experience performing arterial blood gas sampling, oximetry and capnography monitoring.
• Experience with tracheostomy care, suctioning, and airway management, including endotracheal intubation with video laryngoscope or free-hand technique.
• Experience performing 12-lead EKG and basic arrhythmia recognition.
• Ability to assist with procedures (bronchoscopy, chest tube care) and perform routine pulmonary function testing.

Preferred Qualifications:

• ACLS certification.
• Prior hospital experience in a moderate to high acuity setting or critical care environment.
• Experience with PleurX or similar chest drainage devices.

Assignment Details

• Night shift, 3x12 schedule.
• Every other weekend commitment.
