Work Schedule

• 4 days per week, 9-hour shifts (7:00 AM - 4:30 PM and 8:00 AM - 5:30 PM)
• Evening and weekend on-call required
• On-call frequency: 3 out of 8 weekends and 1-2 weeknights (Monday-Thursday)

Job Description & Duties

• Scrubbing, annotating, and sending images to PACS
• Circulating during procedures
• Procedures include:

  • Lower and upper extremity angiograms
  • Atherectomy
  • Mesenteric angiograms
  • Dialysis fistulagram/declot
  • Nephrostomy tubes
  • Biliary tubes (internal/external drainage)
  • Embolizations
  • Ports placement
• Work in 2 IR rooms with 2 Interventional Radiologists and 2 techs on call plus 1 nurse

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of experience as an IR tech
• ARRT certification
• BLS certification
• Experience with peripheral procedures
• Preferred experience with Toshiba/Cannon Interventional rooms
• Preferred skills: Nephrogram, Kyphoplasty, biliary drainage, venous access

Certifications & Competencies

• BLS (Basic Life Support) required
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) may be required depending on role
• PALS, NRP, TNCC, EFM certifications as applicable to specialty areas
• Competency exams required annually as applicable
• State license verification as applicable (not required for Radiology Tech positions)

Health & Safety Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year of start
• Fit testing for N95 masks required
• Immunizations and titers required:

  • Tdap (no religious declination accepted)
  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR) - positive titer or 2 vaccines
  • Varicella - positive titer or 2 vaccines
  • Hepatitis B vaccination or declination
  • Seasonal flu vaccine or declination (mask required if declined)
• TB testing: 2-step PPD or equivalent within 90 days of start
• Drug testing: 9-panel within 1 year (not required for client clearance)
• COVID-19 vaccine preferred; medical/religious exemptions accepted with documentation
• COVID-19 booster required only for LTC candidates with testing requirements if not boosted

Background & Compliance

• Criminal background check within 1 year required
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and OIG excluded provider checks required
• Two references from recent employers within 2 years required
• Skills checklist required for clinical candidates
• Education verification required (diploma acceptable in lieu of third-party verification)
• Minnesota DHS NetStudy Fingerprint clearance required for MN facilities (must be completed immediately after contract signing)
• Confidentiality agreement must be signed prior to start

Orientation & Training

• Education modules (~16 hours) completed during orientation (except Long Prairie location)
• Dress code: RRTs wear dove gray (light gray) scrubs
• COVID-19 information and protocols provided during orientation

Additional Notes

• Candidates must complete MN DHS NetStudy Fingerprint Questionnaire immediately after signing contract to proceed with fingerprinting and clearance
• Candidates cannot start without fingerprint clearance or approved exemption/“more time needed” letter
• Badge photo required with specific guidelines (grey background, no selfies, JPG format)
• Candidates must return badges on last day of assignment

This position is ideal for IR techs with experience in interventional radiology procedures looking for a travel contract in a Magnet, teaching, Level II trauma hospital setting. The role requires flexibility for on-call shifts including nights and weekends.
