Job Opportunity: MRI Technologist - Radiology / Cardiology

Location: Cleveland, Ohio
Facility: Cleveland Clinic Main Campus
Hospital System: The Cleveland Clinic Foundation - Cleveland Clinic Ohio – Radiology
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13-26 weeks (flexible, typically 26 weeks)
Shift/Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM

  • No weekends
  • No holidays

Job Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year of MRI experience
  • Experience with Siemens MRI scanners (Vida, Aera, Skyra, Avanto)
  • Ability to perform all routine Neuro, Body, and MSK exams (No cardiac exams)
  • ARRT (MR) credential required
  • AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
  • First-time travelers accepted

Required Credentials & Certifications

  • ARRT (MR) certification
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA only
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA only, as applicable
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) - AHA only, as applicable
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) - AHA only, as applicable
  • National certification verification prior to start and upon expiration
  • HIPAA Safety Manual Acknowledgement (updated annually)
  • State license verification (OH radiology license not required for MRI techs)

Compliance & Onboarding Requirements

  • Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
  • Criminal background check (7-year FCRA compliant)
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks (monthly)
  • Two recent satisfactory pre-employment references
  • Employment application including 3 years prior work history with at least 2 years in acute care and similar clinical area
  • Unit-specific competency exam within 12 months of start, updated annually
  • Unit-specific skills checklist, updated annually
  • Transcript/Diploma required
  • FBI and BCI fingerprinting through agency within 12 months of start
  • Fingerprint clearance attestation within 12 months of start
  • Online training modules (4-5 hours) must be completed prior to orientation (must be done on a computer using Chrome)
  • Badge photo and badge pickup procedures as per facility guidelines

Health & Safety Requirements

  • Pre-employment physical exam within 1 year of start, confirming ability to safely perform job functions
  • Fit mask test within 12 months of start, updated annually (specific N95 masks required)
  • Negative TB test (2-step PPD or Quantiferon Gold/T-Spot) within 6 months of start or chest x-ray if prior positive
  • Annual TB questionnaire if history of positive TB
  • Immunization or titer documentation for:
    • Rubeola (Measles)
    • Mumps
    • Rubella
    • Hepatitis B (titer, vaccine series, or signed declination)
    • Varicella
  • Negative 10-panel + Nicotine (Cotinine) drug screen within 12 months of start, updated annually
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption during flu season (Oct 31 - Mar 31)

Additional Notes

  • Candidates working with pediatric patients will require onsite fingerprinting as part of onboarding; results must be cleared before start
  • Fingerprinting results for other specialties must be completed prior to start or pending only for X-ray and MRI techs
  • Training modules cannot be completed on phones and must be done in order (video then test)
  • Facility covers cost of 4 hours of module time only
