Job Opportunity: EP Lab Tech (Radiology / Cardiology)
Location: Washington, District of Columbia
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Shift: 36 hours per week, Day/Evening shifts (07:00-17:00 / 11:00-21:00)
- Includes three days of late case coverage per week
- No on-call or weekend requirements
- No floating requirements
Experience & Skills Required
- Minimum 1 year EP Lab clinical experience
- Experience with Cerner electronic health records system
- Proficient in Electrophysiology (EP) Lab procedures, hemodynamic monitoring, and ablations
- EKG settings and experience required for inpatient and outpatient settings, including obtaining vitals and sinus node rhythms
- Equipment experience required: Philips and Siemens X-Ray machines, GE Micropacer
- Preferred equipment experience: 3D mapping systems (Biosense, Abbott/ESI), Siemens and GE ultrasound, laser lead machine
- Preferred skills: Groin closure device, peripherals, laser lead extraction
- Preferred work settings: Trauma and Children's Hospital
Certifications Required
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- CCI RCES or RCIS certification
Preferred Certifications:
- ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists)
- Fluoroscopy permit

- Cardiac Electrophysiology study
- Head-Up-Tilt test
- Cardioversion
- Internal Loop Recorder
- Atrial flutter/fibrillation ablations
- Supraventricular tachycardia ablations
- Ventricular tachycardia ablations
- Device implants (Watchman, Aveir, Pacemaker, Defibrillator)
- Device explants and lead extractions

- Charting systems: Cerner, GE Cardiolab
- Medication system: Pyxis
- Scrubs provided
- Average daily caseload: 18 patients
- Flu vaccine required for all employees
Compliance & Documentation Requirements
- I9 and E-Verify attestation required upon hire
- Valid driver's license required if driving is an essential job function
- Criminal background check within 90 days of start, including multi-state and federal searches
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required prior to start and monthly thereafter
- Education verification for highest degree required by position
- Drug screen within 90 days of start, updated annually (does not include marijuana)
- Physical exam confirming ability to work without accommodations and free from communicable disease
- N95 fit test within 9 months of start, updated annually (client may complete onsite)
- Immunizations and titers required:
- Flu vaccine (or approved exemption) for current flu season
- COVID-19 vaccination strongly recommended; declination requires mask use
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years preferred)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within required timeframe
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) documentation or titers
- Hepatitis B titer, series, or signed declination
- Varicella vaccination or titer
Competency & Testing Requirements
- Medication test/pharmacology competency exam (must score 80% or higher)
- Color blindness testing (online or in-person)
- Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam required for EP Lab and related cardiac units (RN only)
- Skills checklist required prior to start and updated annually
References & Work History
- Two positive supervisory references required, including one from the most recent assignment
- Complete 7 years of work history with no gaps, including education, employment, licenses, and contact information
- Minimum 2 years of employment in the past 7 years, with at least 1 travel assignment or 1 month per diem experience
Additional Notes
- Facility requires completion of specific training modules prior to start
- Photo for badge required with specific guidelines (clear, centered, no glare, solid background)
- Scrubs are provided on site
