Title: Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics – Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
Location: Columbus, OH
Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: Night Shift, 3x12-Hour (19:00–07:30)

Job Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive respiratory care to adult and geriatric patients in Med/Surg, PCU, Critical Care, and Emergency Department settings

• Manage invasive and non-invasive ventilation including mechanical ventilation, BiPAP, and CPAP

• Monitor and troubleshoot ventilators, including high-pressure alarms and circuit issues

• Assist with weaning patients from mechanical ventilation per protocol

• Perform airway management procedures including oral, nasal, and tracheal suctioning

• Provide tracheostomy care and management

• Assist with extubation and airway placement (oral and nasal airways)

• Deliver oxygen therapy including High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC) and trach collar setups

• Administer respiratory medications including bronchodilators, inhaled steroids, nitric oxide (INo), and other critical care medications

• Set up and manage medication delivery systems including MDI, aerosol mask, aerosol trach, T-piece, and nebulizer treatments

• Collect sputum specimens and perform pulmonary hygiene therapies

• Interpret arterial blood gases (ABGs) and adjust respiratory treatment plans accordingly

• Accurately document assessments, treatments, and patient responses in Epic EMR

• Maintain infection control, patient safety, and hospital compliance standards

• Float to other units within scope to meet facility needs

Required Skills & Experience:

• Minimum 2 years of recent Respiratory Therapist experience in acute care

• Experience in adult critical care and emergency department settings

• Proficiency in ventilator management and airway care

• Experience with ABG interpretation

• Experience with oral/nasal suctioning and tracheostomy management

• Epic EMR experience required

• Ability to work night shift, weekends, and holidays as required

• Strong clinical judgment and ability to manage high-acuity patients independently

Required Certifications & Licensure:

• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) – required

• Active Ohio State Respiratory Care License – required

• BLS (AHA) – required

• Graduate of an accredited respiratory therapy program (diploma and transcripts required)
