Description
Location : Washington, DC
Schedule: 3 x 12-hour night shifts
Contract Duration:13 weeks
Position Summary : We are seeking a highly skilled Emergency Department Registered Nurse (ED RN) to provide high-quality, patient-centered care in a fast-paced, high-acuity trauma and emergency setting. The ED serves a diverse patient population, including urgent care, psychiatric, pediatric, critical care, and trauma cases.
The RN will be responsible for coordinating and delivering safe, efficient, and compassionate care to patients with complex and evolving medical needs while maintaining the highest standards of clinical quality and patient experience.
Key Responsibilities
Provide direct patient care in a high-volume Emergency Department
Serve as bedside trauma RN in the trauma room when required
Manage high-acuity patients including trauma, critical care, and medical emergencies
Perform and support advanced interventions including:
Medication titrations
Arterial line management
Massive transfusion protocols
Chest tube care and monitoring
Triage and manage a wide range of patients (urgent care, psych, pediatric, trauma, and critical care)
Maintain patient safety while managing nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:5
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated care
Utilize Cerner EMR for documentation and clinical workflow
Required Qualifications
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in applicable state/district
Minimum 3 years Emergency Department (ER/ED) experience
Graduate of an accredited or NLN-approved RN program
Certifications required:
ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
BLS (Basic Life Support)
TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)
