The Surgery unit welcomes new grad nurses, experienced nurses from other specialties, and of course experienced Surgical Services nurses! To ensure success and confidence in those new to the operating room, we offer a robust Peri-Op 101 orientation program that will teach you the basics: how to scrub, how to open sterile supplies and prep a room, how to position a patient, etc. Through a combination of online classes and in-person demonstration, our 24-week program will provide you with a strong foundation to begin your career as a Surgical Nurse!

What You’ll Do

The OR Registered Nurse is responsible for managing and directing care inside the operating room to ensure cooperation and patient safety.

The successful candidate will be able to:

Coordinate all nursing care for patients based on established clinical nursing practice standards
Collaborating with other professional disciplines to ensure effective and efficient patient care delivery and the achievement of desired patient outcomes 
Contributing to the provision of quality nursing care through performance improvement techniques that demonstrate positive outcomes in patient care
Collect patient’s health data
Analyze assessment data in determining patient problems 
Identify expected outcomes individualized to the patient
Develop a comprehensive plan of care that prescribes interventions to attain expected outcomes
Implement interventions identified in the plan of care
Evaluate patient’s progress toward attainment of outcomes
Assist with the plan of care, evaluate, modify and coordinate care, and communicate well with other disciplines
Delegate task to unlicensed personnel in compliance with the Board of Nursing
Channel concerns and handle conflict appropriately
Maintain confidentiality with all information
Perform any and all other duties as assigned

What You’ll Bring

Valid RN New Mexico license
ADN required, BSN preferred
Must have a passion for excellence
BLS- Basic Life Support
Must demonstrate excellent English grammar and writing skills
Professionalism displayed through sound judgement, initiative, and flexibility
Good interpersonal, communication, team-work, and customer service skills
Strong organizational, problem-solving and follow-through skills
Ability to multi-task constantly, react to changes quickly/productively, and tolerate interruptions
Remain flexible, organized, professional and able to analyze, make sound decisions under stressful situations
