St. Luke’s Health System is now hiring for our next Periop 101 cohort for full time RN Circulators to join our Surgical Services teams in the Treasure Valley area. 

 

 

Start date:  Cohort starts on March 14th, 2022 with opportunities in the areas listed below.  Interviewing and unit tours (optional) will take place the week of January 10, 2022 and final selections are excpected to made by January 14, 2022.

Perioperative 101 Overview

 

This fast-paced Operating Room (OR) invites you to join us in grey scrubs and develop your nursing skills through our fulltime 6 month periop 101 internship program. You will be training with an OR team made up of interdisciplinary professionals that share a passion for surgery. As you delve into our world of bovies, instrument counts, scopes, steris beds, robots, sterility, intubation and so much more, you will find it is truly a privilege to be the patient advocate on their journey through the surgical experience.

Unit Summaries: 

 

1) The Orthopedic Surgery Center at River Street is a free-standing surgery center. We offer all types of ambulatory procedures from the simplest to the most complex repairs of the shoulder/knee/elbow/wrist/hand/foot/ankle. We have a highly skilled orthopedic-focused team of RNs/CSTs/SPDs and office staff to serve our patients, physicians, and each other in a comfortable and focused environment.

 

2) The Boise Surgery Center is a 4x OR day surgery center performing pediatric and adult ENT, Gynecology, Plastics, and Breast surgeries Monday thru Thursday 0. Situated across the street from the Boise St. Luke’s hospital campus and connected via an underground tunnel, the Boise Surgery Center boasts 6x Preop bays and 10x Recovery bays in a freshly remodeled, spacious facility.

 

3) The Boise OR serves all specialties outside CVOR and L&D. We are the largest OR in the system and support the highest acuity patient population in Pediatric Trauma, Neurosurgery, Orthopedics, Robotics, ENT, OMF, Plastics, Urology, Bariatrics and General surgery. We have a fast-paced environment that encourages teamwork and fosters ongoing growth. Our facility is co-located with both the regions Children’s Hospital and the Cancer Institute.

 

4) The Nampa OR has 4 operating rooms and provides, ortho, urology, general, OB/GYN, ENT, and robotic They also have a call team on staff, so call is very minimal for staff positions.

 

5) The Meridian OR provides ortho, urology, general, OB/GYN, ENT, Eye surgery, Robotics surgery and plastics services. They also have a call team on staff, so call is very minimal for staff positions. They have 10 OR, 17 PreOp, 13 Recovery beds.

 

6) The Meridian Surgery Center has 2 operating rooms, 10 Preop Bays and 6 Recovery Bays that specializes in general surgery and urology for ASA 1, ASA2 and some ASA 3 patients. We are open Tuesday through Friday from 0600 to 1800, which means three day weekends for our staff with no call.  The surgery center is consistently receiving high marks from patients for compassionate care, excellent service and kind, friendly service.

 

Schedule: Full Time- 40 hours per week. Variable shifts Monday - Friday and additional call requirements based on location and staffing needs. 

 

Responsibilities
  • Identifies patient needs and determines priorities for care through assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
  • Develops, implements and coordinates individualized plan of care for patients assigned through initial and on-going assessments.
  • Initiates assessment based on the patient's problems or needs, the physician's medical diagnosis, and the functional health framework.
  • Performs therapeutic nursing interventions.
  • Manages care of patients.
  • Documents care based on standards of care and practice, patient acuity, and/or clinical priorities
  • Advocates for evidence-based practice care standards and supports adoption of evidence-based practices and innovations in care delivery.
  • Provides patient centric care in alignment with professional nursing practice model.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor's of Nursing Degree          
  • Experience: 1+ years RN experience required
  • Licenses/Certifications: Current RN licensure from the State of Practice
