Description
St. Luke’s Health System is searching for a Credentialed Medical Assistant (CMA) to join our Ambulatory Clinical Support Unit (Float Pool).
Unit/Position Summary
The Ambulatory Clinical Support Unit (clinic float pool) is searching for CMAs to support staffing in our Treasure Valley clinics on a limited and short term basis. This requires CMAs that are energetic, flexible and willing to support the mission of the organization. Requirement to float to a minimum of 3 clinics.
Shifts/schedule:
Day shift
16 hours/week minimum with the ability to work more if available
Days can be flexible but need to be able to work full shifts (up to 9 hours)
Responsibilities
- Interviews patients, measures vital signs, and records information on patients’ charts.
- Prepares treatment rooms for examination of patients. Sterilizes, cleans, and performs checks on medical equipment.
- Prepares patients for examination.
- Provides technical, clinical, and clerical support to licensed independent provider.
- Performs medical procedures within scope of roles and responsibilities.
- Processes prescription medication for refill under the supervision of a licensed independent provider.
- Assists licensed independent provider in patient exams and office procedures.
- Prepares basic laboratory tests on premises and prepares laboratory specimens.
- Enters diagnostic or medication orders under the direction of a licensed independent provider.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
Education:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
Certifications:
- Current recognized National Certification as a Medical Assistant
- NCCT, NAHP, AMT, AAMA, AMCA, NHA
- Current BLS-CPR Certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
