Position: Registered Nurse (RN)

Specialty: Med Surg, Oncology

Shift Details

• Schedule: Night shifts, 3 shifts per week (12 hours each), totaling 36 hours.
• Holiday rotation is required.
• Weekends: Every 4th weekend.

Unit Information

• Patient Types: Oncology and Med/Surg, including chemotherapy and side effect management.
• Bed Size: 28 beds.
• Nurse-to-Patient Ratios: 1:5-6 on nights.
• Equipment: Infusaport access.
• Floating: May float across other Med Surg units, including Iowa Methodist MC and Iowa Lutheran.

Job Requirements

• 12 months of oncology experience in a hospital or medical center setting (required).
• Med Surg experience highly preferred due to floating requirements.
• Experience with EPIC EMR system is highly preferred.
• Must have completed at least one travel contract within the previous 12 months (required).
• Experience with Infusaport Access is required.
• CHEMO / ONS / ONCC Certificate is a plus.
• Recent chemotherapy experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 24 months of current oncology and Med Surgical experience is required.
• A skills checklist specific to the oncology and med surgical discipline must be completed.
• Candidates must hold an active Iowa license or a compact/multistate license at the time of submission.
• Current American Heart Association or ARC/American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
• Professional references from a charge nurse, supervisor, nurse manager, director, or similar within the last 24 months are preferred.
• A valid driver’s license is required.

Orientation Date

The orientation date for this position is set for June 22.

Holiday Work Requirement

Contractors are required to work 1-2 of the following upcoming summer holidays, unless the unit is closed: Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day.
