Description

Case Manager (Travel Assignment)

Location: Melrose, Massachusetts
Specialty: Case Manager (Inpatient Hospital)
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Description

A hospital in Massachusetts is seeking a Case Manager for a travel assignment. This role is ideal for a local candidate interested in a temp-to-perm position, but a 13-week travel assignment will also be considered.


Schedule

  • 40 hours per week
  • Monday through Friday

Requirements

  • Strong inpatient hospital case management experience is a must
  • Experience in acute care setting and discharge planning required
  • Utilization review experience is not required
  • Familiarity with Medicare, Medicaid, managed care, and other third-party payor review requirements
  • BSN preferred but not required

Responsibilities

  • Ensure medical necessity of hospitalization and treatment according to hospital and third-party payor guidelines
  • Ensure appropriate utilization of hospital resources
  • Collaborate with physicians and healthcare team members to manage care cost-effectively and efficiently
  • Coordinate and advocate for patients and families requiring post-hospital services
  • Plan and arrange services for discharge to achieve planned care outcomes
  • Act as liaison among medical staff, other departments, patients, families, and community resources to facilitate utilization management review and discharge planning

  • Local candidates preferred due to potential temp-to-perm opportunity
