Job Opportunity: CT Technologist (Computed Tomography)

Location: Melrose, Massachusetts
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Description

Seeking a travel CT Technologist to work in a hospital setting with both inpatient and outpatient cases, including an outpatient center with urgent care. The facility operates one floor with occasional head CTs for falls; very sick patients are transferred to the main hospital.


Required Qualifications

  • ARRT (CT) certification
  • Massachusetts state license for CT Technologist
  • IV certification or IV competency required (must be able to insert IVs)
  • Graduate of an AMA-approved educational program in Radiological Technology
  • 3-5 years of CT Technologist experience (use 5 years as the requirement)
  • GE CT scanner experience is mandatory (deal breaker)
  • Ability to work independently, occasionally alone
  • BLS Certification

Equipment & Technical Skills

  • Experience with GE VCT and Evo/Evolution dual energy scanners
  • Ability to perform calcium scoring on GE scanners is a plus
  • Competent in operating all department equipment or willing to request training
  • Knowledge of Med Rad injections, PACs, VRC, Powerscribe, and Meditech systems
  • Ability to perform quality assurance (QA) and warm-up procedures on CT scanners
  • Skilled in image manipulation (windowing, contrast, algorithms, reformatted images)
  • Able to select proper scanning levels based on field and organ
  • Perform clerical duties to maintain workflow and quality

Job Duties

  • Follow hospital protocols for exam routines and produce quality studies efficiently
  • Complete CT procedures including patient interaction, room cleaning, and preparation
  • Identify scans anatomically with all required information (name, date, accession #, contrast details)
  • Notify coordinator of equipment malfunctions
  • Report findings to physicians, Emergency Department, and Nursing Units as needed
  • Retrieve prior exams and prepare CDs for patients or ER when requested
  • Maintain stock and cleanliness of control rooms and work areas

Schedule

  • Nights, 4 shifts of 10 hours each
