Surgical Tech - OR

Location: Birmingham, Alabama
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Details

  • Specialty: Neuro / Spine Surgical Tech
  • Shift: Day (6:00 AM – 4:30 PM)
  • Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 36
  • Weekend Hours: On call
  • Call Requirements: Evenly distributed by Coordinator
  • Unit: Main OR
  • Number of Beds on Unit: 24
  • Patient Ratios: 1:1
  • Equipment: Operating Room (OR)
  • Electronic Medical Record (EMR) System: Cerner
  • Type of Patients: Surgical patients, primarily neuro/spine
  • Preferred Additional Experience: Vascular, DaVinci robotic surgery, Orthopedics, Maxillofacial

Required Qualifications

  • Surgical Technician with 2 years of experience
  • Surgical Technician experience within the last year
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Experience in Neuro / Spine surgical procedures
  • Experience in Vascular surgical procedures
  • Experience in Orthopedic surgical procedures

Work Environment & Culture

  • Surgical care includes minimally invasive procedures
  • The unit supports a 1:1 patient ratio, indicating focused patient care
  • Call schedule is coordinated and shared evenly among staff
