Description
Registered Nurse (RN) – Labor & Delivery (L&D)
Location: Maple Grove, Minnesota
Employment Type: Temporary
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Rotating
Hours per Day: 12
Job Summary
- Provide holistic nursing care across the lifespan including neonates, infants, children, young adults, adults, and older adults.
- Perform independent, collaborative, and delegated nursing functions according to standards and competencies specific to Labor & Delivery.
- Execute the Standards of Nursing Practice: assessment, nursing diagnosis, outcome identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
- Develop and revise patient care plans, coordinate care among disciplines, and delegate activities appropriately.
- Participate in shared accountability and decision-making for nursing practices.
- Promote and improve practice standards and the environment of care.
- Duties and required clinical skills may vary based on assigned unit.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2+ years of Labor & Delivery experience.
- Experience with High Risk Labor and Delivery.
- Proficient in Fetal Monitoring.
- Experience in Antepartum care.
- Experience caring for Newborn, Adolescent, and Adult populations.
- Current BLS certification (AHA or ARC).
- Current NRP certification.
- Experience with Epic electronic medical records system.
- Must provide:
- Work history and skills checklist current to within 1 year, pertinent to Labor & Delivery.
- Two supervisory references with dates of employment.
- Compliance with Minnesota DHS Net Study and Fingerprinting requirements for patient-facing roles.
- Must meet strict compliance deadlines prior to assignment start.
Additional Information
- Hospital-provided scrubs are required as dress code.
- Nonbillable hours: 4 hours.
- Local traveler policy applies for candidates living within 35 miles of the facility.
- Prior work history with this health system or associated entities must be listed on the resume.

Note for Candidates
- This role requires working in a Level III NICU and a high-volume Family Birth Center environment.
- The position involves rotating shifts with 12-hour workdays.
