Job Opportunity: Respiratory Therapist (RRT)

Location: Harvey, Illinois
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Shift: Night (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
Contract Length: 12 weeks

Job Summary

Seeking a Respiratory Therapist with critical care and emergency experience. The role requires proficiency in blood gas acquisition and analysis. Weekend work is required every other weekend. First-time travelers are accepted, and local candidates are welcome.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Respiratory Therapist license in Illinois
• Minimum 1 year of Respiratory Therapist experience within the last year
• Critical care experience
• Emergency experience

Health & Safety Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year, updated annually, confirming good health
• Fit mask test within 1 year (3M 1860 S/R, 1870+, or 9205+ masks accepted)
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year, updated annually
• Required immunizations or proof of immunity (or approved declinations) for:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
  • Rubeola (Measles)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B
  • Varicella
• Negative 9-panel drug test within 30 days of start
• Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required

Background & Verification

• 7-year background check including aliases, sex offender, national and federal checks
• Education verification or acceptable diploma/transcripts
• Employment verification covering last 7 years
• Skills checklist updated annually for assigned and float units
• Illinois Department of Public Health fingerprinting required if no Illinois state license

Additional Information

• Maximum 7 days restriction on return to work (RTO)
• Facility orientation modules (~2 hours) must be completed before start
• Two professional references required
• Application must include last 7 years of employment with explanations for gaps over 30 days

• Block scheduling is not accommodated
• Prior travel experience is not required
• Pending licenses are accepted
• Candidates must complete all required documentation and health screenings within specified timeframes before assignment start
