Description

Special Procedures Tech - Radiology

Location: Denver, Colorado
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Hours per Week: 36


Unit Information

  • Department: Interventional Radiology
  • Facility has 1 IR suite and 4 holding bays
  • Staffing:
    • Day Shift: 2 techs and 2-3 RNs
    • Night Shift: 1 tech and 1 RN on call
  • Patient Ratios: Typically 1:1 (not guaranteed)
  • Equipment: GE Allura
  • EMR Systems: Meditech, Centricity PACS
  • On-call required during the week and weekend rotation

Typical Procedures

  • Lung, liver, kidney biopsies
  • Port/line placements and drain placements
  • Paracentesis and thoracentesis
  • Kyphoplasty
  • Sedation for MRI/CT imaging

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Special Procedures Technologist
  • At least 1 year of Special Procedures Technologist experience within the last year
  • ARRT Certification
  • BLS Certification

Preferred Qualifications

  • Critical care experience
  • Expert knowledge of vascular procedures

Work Environment & Culture

  • Strong team player required
  • Ability to work well in a busy environment
  • Magnet facility with very low nursing turnover
  • Location offers access to mountain and urban activities
