Registered Nurse - Med Surg

Location: Portsmouth, New Hampshire
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Unit Information

• Unit: 3rd Surgical
• Number of Beds: 27
• Staff: 5-6 RNs and 2-3 LNAs
• Shifts:

  • Day Shift: Charge RN, RNs, LNAs, Unit Coordinator (Monday-Friday)
  • Night Shift: Charge RN, RNs, 2-3 LNAs
• Patient Ratios: 5-6 patients per nurse
• Equipment: Hoyer lift, Continuous Passive Motion (CPM) machine, Code Cart
• EMR system in use

Job Description

• Focus on orthopedic surgery (knees, hips, shoulder, cervical) and bariatrics
• Collaborative team environment with patient-centered care
• Floating area includes Medical Oncology
• Dress code: No specific scrub color required
• Weekend/on-call requirement: 4 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule
• Typical work hours: 36 hours per week

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in New Hampshire
• Minimum 2 years of Medical-Surgical nursing experience in a hospital setting, with experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in orthopedics and bariatrics (2 years preferred)
