Description

ICU Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: Harvey, Illinois
Shift: Night (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Details

  • Specialty: Registered Nurse – ICU

  • Block scheduling not accommodated
  • Return to Office (RTO) restrictions: Maximum 7 days

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois
  • Minimum 1 year of ICU (Intensive Care Unit) nursing experience within the last year
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Background and Verification Requirements

  • Valid Driver’s License or State ID
  • 7-year background check including aliases, sex offender registry, national and federal criminal checks, FACIS III, OFAC, education verification, and international checks if applicable
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start (attestations acceptable for pending searches)
  • Education verification required (ADN or BSN for RN) with diploma/transcripts acceptable if verification unavailable
  • Employment verification covering last 7 years, including explanation of any gaps over 30 days
  • Skills checklist updated annually for assigned and float units
  • Two professional references required
  • NURSYS license verification within 30 days of assignment start

Health and Immunization Requirements (Time Sensitive)

Must be completed within 2 business days of contract signing:

  • Physical exam within 1 year, updated annually, confirming good health
  • Fit mask test within 1 year (3M 1860 S/R, 1870+, or 9205+)
  • Negative TB test (PPD, Qgold, or Tspot) within 1 year or clear chest X-ray if positive TB
  • TB questionnaire if positive TB
  • Immunizations or proof of immunity (positive IGG titers or completed vaccination series) for:
    • Rubeola (Measles)
    • Mumps
    • Rubella
    • Hepatitis B (declination allowed)
    • Varicella
  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccination within 10 years (TD not accepted in lieu of Tdap)
  • Negative 9-panel drug test within 30 days of start (instant acceptable)

Facility-Specific Requirements

  • Completion of facility orientation modules (~2 hours) prior to start
  • Passport-style photo for badge (plain background, forward facing, no headgear)
  • COVID-19 and Influenza vaccination or approved religious/medical exemption forms submitted at least 1 week prior to documentation due date
  • Fingerprinting and addition to Illinois Department of Public Health Registry required if position does not require an Illinois state license (not applicable for RN)

Additional Notes

  • Prior travel experience is not required
  • Must be able to float to other units as needed
  • Employment application must include last 7 years of employment with contact information
  • Return to Office restrictions limit time off to 7 days maximum during assignment
