Description

Registered Nurse - Emergency Department (ED Main)

Contract Length

  • 8 weeks

Unit Description

  • 33-bed Emergency Department specializing in adult cardiac care and complex internal medicine
  • High acuity patient population
  • All-RN nursing staff
  • Fast-paced environment requiring excellent critical thinking skills

Work Schedule

  • 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 AM to 7:00 PM)
  • Total 36 hours per week

Job Description

  • Provide age- and culturally-specific patient care and education
  • Utilize specialized nursing knowledge, judgment, and skills to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care
  • Adhere to the American Nursing Association (ANA) code of ethics and Ohio Nurse Practice Act
  • Communicate effectively with peers using appropriate channels while maintaining confidentiality
  • Demonstrate professional growth and maintain competence
  • Adapt to change and work effectively in a culturally diverse setting

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Ohio
  • Minimum of 1 year of Emergency Department (ED) experience within the last year
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree

Experience

  • No specific years of experience stated beyond RN licensure requirements

  • The role involves working with a multidisciplinary team including board-certified emergency medicine physicians, trauma surgeons, physician assistants, and social workers
