Pediatric Medical Unit - Night Shift **Apply EMSA same day. NOT needed in hand** **Minimum 2 years of experience REQUIRED** 1st time travelers are accepted, but not preferred. **All travelers are the first to float- this includes floating anywhere with the exception of mental health and the ER. All assignments are made by the charge nurses in the areas to which they float- their skill set is taken into consideration. This is the same expectation of their own core staff as well. ** Unit Details: • Average Daily Census: 40 • 36 rooms, 48 beds • Staffing ratio is always 1:4 for days, nights and weekends • Float Required: o Any other units within the organization including surgical, neuro, oncology, PICU or NICU. Would be given a M/S type assignment • Weekend Requirement: o 3-4 weekend shifts per 4 week schedule • Charting: Cerner Patient Population: • Medical patients, ages 0-24 years. Most common diagnoses include pulmonary, GI, Endocrine, Metabolic and Rheumatology patients, both acute and chronic. • No monitored beds on unit, but bedside monitors can be pulled to a central monitoring system for extra surveillance but no Monitor Techs in that case. • Dialysis, POCT, LPs, bronchoscopies, eye procedures Required Certs & Skills: • BLS • PALS • IV Start
