Description
As travel nurses ourselves, we understand the reasons to avoid an agency you haven't worked with. To reward you for giving us a chance, we'll include a $1,000 bonus on your 1st paycheck, when you work your 1st assignment (of 8 weeks or more) with us.
Travelers are the first to float. The Traveler may have shifts scheduled in multiple units, depending on the current staffing needs. During the travelers assignment, if the primary unit no longer has a need, shifts will be re-assigned to another unit in order to complete contract.Do not submit candidates who have or will have expiring licenses and/or certifications during time frame of entire assignment. Candidates will automatically be declined.Work at the #1 hospital in Wisconsin with an interdisciplinary team committed to maintaining high standards of patient care and excellent communication.We are seeking a Registered Nurse: · Join our 28-bed General Surgery unit offering the opportunity to gain a broad base of skills and clinical knowledge.· The patient population is a surgical specialty that focuses on abdominal organs, including stomach, small bowel, colon, liver, pancreas, gallbladder, and bile ducts, and diseases involving the breast.· Nurses are highly competent to care for a variety of high acuity patients, while maintaining a focus of compassionate patient and family centered care. · Emphasis is placed on professional development through continuing education for nursing staff, professional certifications, development of unit resource nurses, mentoring staff and students, while maintaining a high standard of care for all patients and their families.Minimum Requirements:Traveler must have permanent address outside 50 mile radius of Madison(Must include address in profile submission)Traveler must have WI nursing license or compact license from their permanent address state.*Will consider candidates without WI or compact license but must apply for a temporary license under the Wisconsin Act 10 within 48 hours of offer accepted and provide screenshot of application submitted.Traveler must complete this requirement prior to being cleared to start.Traveler must have completed two years of acute care experience within last 3 years.Traveler must have one successful assignment as travel RN (13 weeks).Traveler must have experience in an Academic Level 1 - Trauma center or similar hospital size.BLS (American Heart Associations only)Needs 2 references from recent work environment/assignments (supervisor or manager only).Traveler must have Basic Arrhythmia experience.Will be required to pass Telemetry test upon arrival at UWHC. (Not for clinic positions) Needs 2 references from recent work environment/assignments (supervisor or manager only). Telemetry Competency: (Please note the Inpatient/Outpatient OR RNs do not complete telemetry) All agency travelers must demonstrate competency in interpretation of cardiac rhythms before your orientation begins. Previous completion of PALS, ACLS, etc. is not acceptable as a demonstration of this competency. Instead, you will be expected to satisfactorily complete a 20 question test which consists of multiple choice questions and write-in rhythm identification. You must pass with an overall score of 80% and correctly identify 100% of the 4 life-threatening rhythms for your patient population (adult or peds).
