The Speech Therapist II assesses patients for speech therapy needs, establishes treatment goals, and develops and implements appropriate treatment programs. Responsibilities include:

• Reviewing medical history, conducting screenings, and determining clinical needs, impairments, and functional limitations.
• Collaborating with patients and families to establish a plan of care, including therapy intensity, duration, and discharge recommendations.
• Providing education to patients, families, and caregivers on activities, equipment use, and home exercises.
• Performing regular re-examinations and seeking feedback from patients, families, and the multidisciplinary medical team.
• Managing multiple patients simultaneously and ensuring timely, accurate documentation in compliance with professional and regulatory standards.
• Participating in continuing education and incorporating new knowledge into practice.
• Assisting with staff orientation and serving as a clinical instructor for interns.
• Conducting literature reviews, staff consultations, and providing in-services to staff.
