Job DescriptionSutter Medical Foundation (SMF) is pleased to announce a full-time staff physicist position in the beautiful Sacramento Valley. The board certified (preferred) or board eligible candidate will focus on treatment planning support utilizing Philips Pinnacle v16.4.3 (Evolution), Mosaiq, MIM, and Radcalc. Excellence in achieving plan quality is essential. External beam planning includes VMAT, SBRT, and 3D delivered on 7 linacs (5 Truebeams, 2 Elektas) located at 4 sites and collaborating with 9 Dosimetrists, 10 Physicists, and 12 radiation oncologists. Facility and Equipment:
SMF operates a fleet of 7 accelerators (7 Varian Truebeam), 5 Philips CT-Sims, Gamma Knife, Varian Bravos HDR, Vitesse, Prostate Seed Implants, AlignRT, and Exactrac. The clinic operates on Epic and Elekta Mosaiq for Electronic Health Record (EHR) and Oncology Information System (OIS), respectively. All software applications systems are enterprise wide to support 4 clinics (Auburn, Cameron Park, Roseville, and Sacramento) on unified databases. Current projects include 1 linac replacements, automated plan and chart checking, and new treatment planning system.

Hybrid Work-From-Home: There are aspects of the position that require on-site work. Ability to work-from-home will vary week by week as the cases dictate.

EDUCATION
- Master's: Radiological Physics or other physics, chemistry or engineering discipline or equivalent education/experience
CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE
- AMBP-American Board of Medical Physicists Upon Hire
- OR ABR-American Board of Radiology Upon Hire
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE AS TYPICALLY ACQUIRED IN:
- 2 years of Clinical Physics experience
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
- Competency in clinical dosimetry and active involvement in treatment planning.
- Oral and written communication skills to relate important clinically relevant information to other professionals.
- Must be able to apply advanced math and physics principles with critical thinking to solve problems independently.
- Must be able to prioritize tasks, use mechanical tools, and operate independently to ensure Quality Assurance/Quality Control is completed in a timely fashion.
- Active participation in physics and dosimetry professional societies at local and national levels.

Pay Range is $91.30 to $146.08 / hourThe salary range for this role may vary above or below the posted range as determined by location. This range has not been adjusted for any specific geographic differential applicable by area where the position may be filled. Compensation takes into account several factors including but not limited to a candidate’s experience, education, skills, licensure and certifications, department equity, training and organizational needs. Base pay is just one piece of the total rewards program offered by Sutter Health. Eligible roles also qualify for a comprehensive benefits package.
