Job Opportunity – Operating Room Registered Nurse – Fortuna, CA 95540

Start Date: June 15, 2026

Location: Northern California coastal region

Schedule: Day shift, 5x8-hour shifts (07:00 - 15:30). Call required 2 days per week including holidays and weekends. Three 24-hour on-call weekend shifts per month. Must be available to work 2 out of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year).

Highlights:

• 13-week travel assignment at a rural community hospital with 3 operating rooms
• Dual-role position requiring both circulating and recovery nursing competencies
• Diverse surgical caseload including general OR, pediatric cases, endoscopy, and ambulatory procedures
• Interdisciplinary support from respiratory services, pharmacy, and unit secretaries
• Patient population includes pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
• 24 hours of orientation provided upon assignment start

Requirements:

• Active California Registered Nurse license required at time of submission
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, and PALS
• Minimum 1 year of Operating Room nursing experience required
• Endoscopy experience required
• Epic charting system experience preferred
• Skills required include general OR, ambulatory OR, PACU/recovery, cardiac monitoring, code response, and various surgical procedures (cholecystectomy, appendectomy, hernia repair, colonoscopy, EGD, tonsillectomy/adenoidectomy, total joint replacement)
• Two professional references covering 1 year within the last 3 years
• Must reside outside 50-mile local radius
• Willingness to float to nearby affiliate facilities as needed
